HUMANEERING™: Engineering Human Connection Through Story
9:00am - 10:00am
WCCCD
19191 Vernier Rd., Room 129
Harper Woods, MI 48225
This one-hour class examines the psychology behind why certain stories are remembered indefinitely while facts and figures are quickly forgotten — and what that means for real estate professionals building relationships with clients and communities.
Participants will explore the neuroscience of memory and emotion, the behavioral principles that drive attention and curiosity, and an original five-step framework — the HEART Method™ — for structuring an authentic, memorable story from everyday professional experience. The session also addresses how to deliver these stories naturally on camera, so they read as genuine rather than scripted or rehearsed. This is not a class on cameras, editing, or equipment — it focuses on the underlying principles of human connection, communication, and trust that make any story worth telling, on video or off.
By the end of the class, attendees will be able to:
- Explain why the brain retains emotional experiences more readily than factual information
- Identify the psychological drivers behind sustained attention and curiosity
- Apply the HEART Method™ to structure a story with a clear emotional throughline
- Begin building a personal "Story Bank" of usable material drawn from their own experience
- Deliver a story on camera in a way that feels conversational and unscripted
- Draft and practice a short, original story suitable for client-facing communication
Format: Interactive lecture with guided discussion and a hands-on writing exercise Length: 60 minutes Audience: REALTORS®, brokers, and other real estate professionals; open to anyone who communicates with clients or the public as part of their work Materials: A companion workbook is provided to support in-class exercises and continued practice afterward
