To be a REALTOR®, you must first obtain your real estate license.
Once licensed and working for a brokerage, you can join a REALTOR® board to become a REALTOR®. Joing a board will come with some requirements that may differ from board to board. One constant is the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics class that must be completed. This class is typically taken online, and only requires a short amount of time.
This foundational core built upon by the Code of Ethics is the primary difference between a REALTOR® and a real estate agent.
